Job summary

Universal Avionics in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Manufacturing Test & Troubleshooting Engineer to join our onsite team. You will work hands-on with circuit cards, cable assemblies, and production test equipment to diagnose root causes and ensure every unit meets design standards.

You will collaborate with Operations, Test, Process, Quality, and Design, mentor technicians, support NPI as products move to production, and help drive continuous improvement in reliability and yield across our aerospace

Qualifications

Associate degree in Electronics or related field, or 7+ years in electronics/aerospace.
Strong hands-on troubleshooting across electronic systems.
Ability to read schematics and technical docs; communicate across teams.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot circuit card assemblies, cable/harness builds, box-build systems, and production test equipment down to root cause.
Partner with Test and Process Engineering to strengthen test procedures, troubleshooting guides, and work instructions.
Mentor and support technicians in real time, sharing electronics fundamentals and troubleshooting techniques.
Support New Product Introduction as designs move from prototype into full production.
Track yield, test failure trends, and recurring defects to anticipate production issues.
Redline drawings, schematics, and work instructions when documentation doesn't match reality.
Contribute to Material Review Board and Configuration Control Board discussions that shape how products get built.
Support first article inspection, validation, and verification for assemblies and test fixtures.
