Job summary

Actalent in Nashua, NH is seeking a Test Hardware Design Engineer to design mechanical test fixtures, tooling, and test stands for aerospace environments. The role emphasizes safe, robust hardware and collaboration with electrical, software, systems, and test engineers.

You will develop 3D CAD models, fabrication packages, and sensor mounting solutions, while performing structural and thermal analyses to meet program requirements and schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Mechatronics engineering.
• 3–8+ years of mechanical design experience, preferably in test hardware.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD tools used for modeling and detailing.
• Experience creating fabrication-ready drawings and assemblies.
• Knowledge of GD&T per ASME Y14.5 standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical test fixtures, stands, and tooling.
• Create 3D CAD models and fabrication packages for test hardware.
• Design hardware for environmental, vibration, thermal and production testing.
• Develop sensor mounting solutions and data acquisition hardware.
• Perform structural and thermal analyses to ensure safety and reliability.
• Coordinate fabrication and integration with internal and external teams.
• Troubleshoot issues and implement design improvements.
• Collaborate with electrical, software, and systems engineers on integration.
