Job description

Position Overview

Technology Service Corporation (TSC) is seeking an Aerospace Test Engineer to support work at the Naval Research Laboratory. This position offers the opportunity to directly impact high‑priority Navy missions.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare, execute, and analyze experimental aerodynamic test campaigns to validate the performance of advanced aerospace vehicles and missile systems.
  • Collaborate with design teams to translate aerodynamic objectives into concrete test procedures and safely operate wind tunnel facility hardware.
  • Assemble and instrument complex sub‑scale models with strain‑gage balances, pressure scanners, and flow‑visualization sensors.
  • Develop automated data acquisition routines.
  • Monitor real‑time data quality during active wind tunnel runs.
  • Reduce and analyze large experimental datasets.
  • Document aerodynamic coefficients to validate computational fluid dynamics (CFD) models.
Qualifications
  • U.S. citizenship and an active Secret clearance (TS/SCI preferred).
  • At least 2 years of experience in a relevant aerospace engineering discipline involving aerodynamic or aerothermal analysis.
  • At least 2 years of direct experience in an aerodynamic laboratory or testing facility.
  • Proficiency with data acquisition and analysis tools such as LabVIEW and MATLAB.
  • Working knowledge of CFD tools such as Star‑CCM, CBAero, Cart3D, and TAOS.
  • Proficiency with CAD software such as Siemens NX Design or SolidWorks.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem‑solving skills.
Salary

In compliance with applicable pay transparency laws, the expected salary range for this position is $100,000–$142,000 per year, depending on experience and location. The role is also eligible for an annual performance bonus and may include equity or incentive compensation as part of the total rewards package.
