Job summary

Calhoun Community College seeks a qualified instructor to provide competent classroom and laboratory instruction in aerospace/manufacturing topics at the Decatur and Huntsville campuses, with options for traditional, hybrid, and distance formats. Courses are taught day, evening, and weekends across multiple sites.

The position requires an associate degree (or higher) and at least 3 years of related full-time work experience, with preference for a Bachelor's in CTE/Engineering.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate degree or equivalent (at least 60 semester hours) in Aerospace, Manufacturing Technology, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of full-time work experience in industrial maintenance, electrical, mechanical, or related field.
• Demonstrated experience in blueprint reading, GD&T and electrical layout.

Responsibilities

• Provide competent classroom and laboratory instruction in the area of credentialed expertise.
• Teach at varied times and places and in varied formats based on student demand; day or evening, at all sites, in traditional classroom, hybrid, or web format.
• Evaluate student progress according to institutional, divisional, departmental, and individual criteria.
• Maintain and submit accurate class records including grades, absences, withdrawals, and drop information.
• Prepare materials for academic administration, including syllabi, program outlines, and catalog material.
• Participate in scheduled in-service activities.
• Provide academic and career advice to students and promote leadership and enrichment.
• Advise administration on instructional program matters.
• Be prompt and maintain office hours.
• Pursue ongoing professional development to improve teaching.</
• Assist in developing discipline-specific student learning outcomes.
• Assess student learning using various assessment strategies.
• Analyze data on student learning and provide feedback to improve outcomes.
• Foster relationships with local businesses and industries.
• Serve on committees to advance institutional work.
• Perform duties with professionalism and follow policies.
