Job summary

Johnson Service Group is seeking a Technical Writer to join our team supporting the F-16 program. You will research, write, and convert legacy SGML manuals into S1000D XML format in compliance with military specs and program requirements.

The ideal candidate has strong technical writing skills, experience interpreting engineering data, and the ability to collaborate with engineering, production, and sustainment teams to deliver clear, user-friendly publications for maintenance and operations.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of technical writing experience in aerospace or military programs.
• Experience with SGML/XML tagging.
• Ability to convert legacy documents to S1000D format.
• Familiarity with publication standards and QA processes.

Responsibilities

• Research, write, and edit technical content for aircraft maintenance manuals.
• Apply style guides and publication standards.
• Review content for accuracy before publication.
• Support updates in response to feedback and configuration changes.
• Maintain publication schedules and deliver on time.
• Use CMS and publishing tools to produce electronic/print publications.
• Ensure documentation passes audits.
