Job summary

BETA Technologies in Vermont seeks a senior technical writer and reviewer with aerospace experience to produce maintenance, flight, and other manuals in compliance with S1000D. You will administer CSDB, collaborate with SMEs and engineers, extract data from drawings and CAD models, and guide illustrators, editors, and peers toward precise, regulator-ready publications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or aerospace-related field.
• Minimum five years of S1000D documentation in aerospace with CSDB admin & peer review.
• Deep knowledge of effectivity/applicability in S1000D.
• Experience with FAA/EASA approvals for aerospace publications.
• Experience coordinating with engineers to extract/validate technical information.
• Proficiency in XML authoring and CSDB management.
• Familiarity with collaboration tools (SharePoint, Slack, Jira/Confluence).
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Writing, peer reviewing and editing content for engine/aircraft manuals compliant with S1000D.
• Using S1000D tools to manage effectivity/applicability.
• Engaging with SMEs to obtain source data and revise content per SME reviews.
• Extracting technical data from drawings, specifications, and CAD models.
• Working with illustrators, providing markups for graphics.
• Using collaboration tools for document workflow tracking.
