PlanIT Group, LLC is seeking a Technical Publication Author/Writer to join our team supporting the F-16 program. You will research, develop, write, and convert legacy SGML manuals into S1000D XML format, ensuring compliance with program and military specifications.

Collaborating with engineering, production, and sustainment teams, you will deliver high-quality publications that support F-16 maintenance, troubleshooting, and operational readiness.

Qualifications

• Experience writing and editing technical manuals for complex systems.
• Ability to interpret engineering data and translate it into clear, user-friendly publications.
• Familiarity with SGML/XML tagging and publication workflows.

Responsibilities

• Research, write, and edit maintenance and operations manuals for aircraft.
• Apply style guides and publication standards for consistency across deliverables.
• Review content for accuracy, clarity, and compliance before publication.
• Support publication updates in response to feedback and configuration changes.
• Maintain documentation schedules and ensure timely delivery of technical publications.
• Utilize content management systems and publishing tools to produce electronic and printed outputs.
