Job summary

Signia Aerospace in Montgomery, AL seeks a technical writer to develop owner’s manuals, service and maintenance manuals, and related publications. You’ll collaborate with engineering, operations, quality, product support and sales to gather content and ensure accuracy.

This role requires an associates degree in technical writing or related field, 0–2 years of experience, basic writing tools knowledge, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Technical Writing, Communications, English, Engineering, or related discipline.
• 0–2 years of technical writing or documentation experience.
• Beginning knowledge of technical writing practices and documentation tools.
• Works under direct supervision.

Responsibilities

• Write and edit basic technical documentation including manuals, procedures, and user guides.
• Review engineering drawings, design reports, and technical specifications to gather content.
• Translate technical concepts into clear, audience-appropriate language.
• Ensure documentation follows company style guides, templates, and standards.
• Maintain documentation records and assist with revision updates and version control.
• Collaborate with engineers and SMEs to verify accuracy of information.
• Deliver documentation to support engineering, manufacturing and product use.
• Adhere to defined task schedules.
