Job summary

Aery Aviation, LLC in Newport News, Virginia is seeking an experienced Engineering Technician to support hands-on testing, assembly, and documentation for certification and maintenance. The role blends practical hardware work with authoring clear, standards-driven technical content used for FAA/EASA and AS9100 processes.

You will produce SOPs, procedures, test reports, and inspection records; translate specs into technician-friendly content; collaborate across engineering, quality, manufacturing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in aerospace tech or related field.
• 3+ years as an engineering technician in aerospace/aviation.
• Experience producing procedures, test reports, maintenance docs in regulated environments.
• Familiar with FAA, EASA, DO-178/DO-254, AS9100.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on activities: assembly, wiring, bench testing, calibration, inspection.
• Support test campaigns: set up rigs, instrument systems, collect data, log results.
• Create and maintain SOPs, test procedures, reports, and maintenance instructions.
• Translate specs into clear content for technicians, engineers, and auditors.
• Collaborate across engineering, quality, manufacturing and product teams.
• Participate in root cause investigations and write corrective action reports.
• Maintain calibration records, spare inventory, and lab safety compliance.
• Assist certification documentation and audits with organized evidence.
