Job summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) seeks a technical writer to research, document and develop operator, maintenance and troubleshooting procedures, checklists, specifications and training materials to support military and commercial systems.

Under close supervision, you will ensure materials clearly communicate technical information, adhere to specifications, and elicit data from experts. The role requires teamwork, accuracy and occasional travel to support projects.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree and 1+ year in a technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • Basic technical understanding of military or commercial systems and technical writing standards.
  • Knowledge of computer-based tools for producing technical documentation.
  • Ability to grasp concepts quickly, maintain confidentiality, and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

  • Researches, documents and develops procedures, specifications, and reports.
  • Collects technical information from various sources and interviews experts.
  • Ensures documents meet requested specifications and security requirements.
  • Coordinate document reviews and approvals.
  • Follow laws and safety practices; perform other duties as assigned.
