Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Minnesota is seeking a Systems Engineering Intern to support a multidisciplinary engineering team within a complex aerospace systems environment. You will assist with requirements interpretation, structured testing, and analysis of system behavior, while documenting observations and communicating results to mentors.

This role provides hands-on exposure and collaboration across multiple disciplines.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a closely related STEM discipline, and actively enrolled through the completion of the intern session.
• Must have a minimum of 60 credit hours by the start of the internship.
• Experience with structured analytical or engineering workflows (may include coursework, research, projects, or prior work).
• Experience with technical documentation or communicating technical findings in a clear written format.

Responsibilities

• Assist with requirements interpretation, structured testing activities, and analysis of system behavior.
• Document engineering observations, compile evidence, and communicate results to mentors and teammates.
• Contribute to process-focused improvements such as standardizing documentation formats and strengthening traceability between requirements, evaluations, and results.
• Collaborate with engineers across multiple disciplines, gaining hands-on exposure to real-world systems engineering workflows.
• Participate in regular team meetings to review progress and plan weekly objectives.
