Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking an Aerospace Systems Engineer III to advance fault management and system autonomy across spaceflight initiatives. You will define redundancy, design autonomous modes, and guide verification and validation efforts within the Blue Ring SEIT team, traveling up to 20% as needed, and contributing to high-assurance spaceflight programs.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace engineering or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of systems engineering experience for aerospace systems.
  • Experience with fault-tolerance strategies for safety-critical systems.
  • Familiarity with embedded software system design or operation.
  • Knowledge of FMECA/FTA/FHAs is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and manage fault management architectures and design principles.
  • Define redundancy architecture and fault containment regions for integrated systems.
  • Architect, design, and analyze autonomous behaviors, modes, and states.
  • Plan and execute Fault Management and Autonomy Verification & Validation activities.
  • Monitor and drive improvements in FMSA design, development, and testing.
