Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a senior Systems Engineer for the In‑Space Systems group in Colorado. You will apply multidisciplinary engineering to ensure spacecraft requirements, interfaces, and architecture meet mission objectives.

You will collaborate across AI&T, Mission Systems, Launch Vehicle, and Operations to deliver robust, verifiable solutions in a fast-paced environment. Travel up to 10% expected; Top Secret clearance desired; experience with flight software is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a B.S. degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace engineering or equivalent technical field.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in systems engineering, preferably in the space industry.
• 5+ years of related experience in design, development and flight test of aerospace systems.
• Experience defining space system requirements and concept definitions across mission objectives.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Lead Systems Engineer to ensure design standards and best practices.
• Develop CONOPs, requirements definitions, and interface definitions.
• Decompose high-level requirements into system architecture and block diagrams.
• Coordinate with subsystem teams for verification, validation plans, and objectives.
• Oversee verification strategies ensuring hardware and software meet system requirements.
• Create test plans and generate results reports, supporting holistic solutions across program elements.
• Identify and assist in managing technical, schedule, and cost risks.
• Support planning of system-level verification methods and testing events.
• Plan integration activities in spacecraft assembly facilities and assist proposals.
