Job summary

Archer, an aerospace company based in San Jose, CA, is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to lead the development assurance framework for the first certified aircraft.

You will define, deploy, and improve processes and toolchains to ensure ARP4754A, DO-178C, DO-254 compliance, traceability, and audit readiness across product lifecycles, partnering with engineering teams and certification authorities.

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or PhD in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years of experience developing aerospace systems
• Experience with requirements development, configuration, and architecture for aircraft
• Hands-on experience with civil aviation programs for certification
• Familiarity with ARP4754A, DO-178C/DO-254 and safety standards
• Proficiency with requirements tools Polarion, DOORS, Jama
• Knowledge of 14 CFR Part 23/27 and related regulatory frameworks

Responsibilities

• Architect compliant processes and system engineering framework aligned with ARP4754A, DO-178C, and DO-254
• Define, implement, and improve standards, templates, and quality criteria for development artifacts
• Coach engineering teams to adopt compliant processes and ensure traceability
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate processes into daily workflows
• Configure toolchains to enforce process compliance and artifact lifecycle management
