Job summary

AscendArc is seeking a Director of Supply Chain to own strategy, sourcing, procurement, inventory, and supplier management for a space-ready system. You will build the function and later a team, negotiating complex aerospace agreements and shaping ERP integration with engineering and manufacturing.

You will lead lean, compliant supply chains, manage long-lead items, and ensure program milestones align with part availability. Space/high-reliability hardware knowledge is essential.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in supply chain, procurement, or hardware operations, ideally in space/aerospace/defense or complex startups.
• Deep familiarity with space-qualified or high-reliability hardware supply chains: electronics, RF, mechanical, or propulsion.
• Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems and keeping BOM data tight; ERP implementation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end supply chain: strategy, sourcing, procurement, inventory, logistics, and supplier management; build function and team as we scale.
• Negotiate complex aerospace supply agreements, including long-lead, high-value components and commodity parts.
• Lead supplier qualification with focus on long-lead and single-source items driving program schedule.
• Apply lean principles: right-sized inventory, waste elimination, and strategic sourcing.
• Collaborate with engineering/production to translate designs into buildable, sourceable hardware and address lead-time or cost issues.
• Drive material alignment to program milestones so teams avoid part shortages.
• Own procurement, inventory, and BOM data in NetSuite and shape ERP/MES integration.
• Establish aerospace-quality processes (AS9100-aligned), counterfeit parts avoidance, and source inspection where needed.
• Execute export controls compliance in procurement, including ITAR/EAR flow-downs.
