Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher required (preferably in Engineering, Logistics, or Supply Chain).
• 3 – 8 years of experience, preferably in the aerospace and defense industry.
• Understanding of GD&T and ability to interpret engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of industry specifications and standards (e.g., AS9100, ANSI, ASME).
• Knowledge of government and regulatory requirements.
• Knowledge of a variety of manufacturing processes.
• Proficient in the use of MS Office; with emphasis on Excel manipulation of data and metrics.
• Must be detail oriented, organized, and self-motivated.
• Must be able to work in a team environment and possess good communication and interpersonal skill.
• Experience with Quality Engineering tools (e.g., Cause Map, 5-Why) preferred.
• Preferred knowledge of FSDA and DPD.
• Preferred knowledge of inspection methods.
• Technical writing skills preferred.
• Lean/Green Belt certification a plus; CSQP or CQE a plus.
• Must be able to lift 35 lbs.
• Familiarity with SAP is a big plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance to Supply Chain and other internal functions in applying quality system requirements.
• Train suppliers and MEC personnel on specifications and requirements for suppliers.
• Maintain and analyze supplier score cards and raw data to inform decisions.
• Generate weekly metrics to understand trends and performance of suppliers.
• Issue SCARs or SNs and manage corrective action processes.
• Maintain SCAR process and ensure closed loop corrective actions with root cause identification.
• Manage Approved Supplier List per MEC policies.
• Improve supplier quality via get-well plans and milestones.
• Attend daily Receiving Inspection huddles and shop floor meetings.
• Prepare detailed trip reports to document site visits and audits.
• Conduct supplier quality system audits/surveys as required.
• Ensure counterfeit part avoidance and GIDEP alert system usage.
• Communicate quality issues to suppliers and develop corrective actions.
• Assess supplier capabilities through technical discussions and quality system assessments.
• Conduct supplier site visits to deliver score cards and RCCA training.
• Build relationships with cross-functional groups to reduce vendor defects.
