Job summary

Axiom Space in Houston seeks a Supplier Development Engineer to bridge engineering, quality, and its supplier base, driving manufacturability, quality, and on-time delivery across the supply chain.

You will travel up to 90% to supplier facilities, review designs for DFM, lead CAPA investigations, and develop supplier scorecards while coordinating with procurement, QA, and program management to ensure parts meet specifications and timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, 4+ years of experience, aerospace experience preferred.
• Proven ability to drive Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and supplier quality improvements.
• Experience with root cause analysis and CAPA processes in a supplier context.

Responsibilities

• Travel to supplier facilities to assess manufacturing capability and readiness.
• Review part designs and drive Design for Manufacturability (DFM) with internal teams.
• Identify and investigate supplier quality issues using CAPA methodologies.
• Monitor supplier performance and develop improvement plans for underperforming suppliers.
• Develop supplier scorecards and report trends to drive accountability.
• Provide guidance on quality standards and manufacturing requirements to suppliers.
