Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in El Segundo or Palmdale, CA is seeking an Aeronautical Engineer – Subsystem Design Engineer to join our team. You will design avionics, control surfaces, propulsion interfaces, and environmental systems within an Integrated Product Team, translating system requirements into detailed specs and drawings.

The role is full-time and on-site with travel up to 25%; U.S. Government Secret clearance is required or pursued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline with 2 years of related engineering experience; OR Master’s with 0 years.
• Proficiency with CAD and drafting tools and creation of engineering drawings and BOMs.
• Strong knowledge of requirements development and management practices.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop subsystem components meeting performance, weight, and reliability requirements.
• Translate system requirements into detailed subsystem specifications and drawings.
• Perform analyses and simulations to validate concepts and support design decisions.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and BOMs.
• Plan and execute subsystem tests and resolve design deficiencies.
