Job summary

Moog is seeking a Manufacturing Sub Assembly Technician for our Torrance, CA site. Onsite, first shift (6:00am-2:30pm), you will perform precision mechanical assembly and fabrication for aerospace components, following engineering drawings and specifications to ensure high quality and safety.

You will install bushings, threaded inserts, helicoils, and perform drilling, reaming, and chem-etch prep. Strong reading of blueprints and 3+ years in assembly are required, with a background in aerospace

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; able to follow verbal, written, and computer instructions in English.
• Minimum 3 years of assembly experience in aerospace or related field.
• Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Experience in the Aerospace industry and basic computer programs (Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Install aerospace bushings, bearings, sleeves, and related hardware to engineering specs.
• Install and inspect helicoils and threaded inserts per aerospace specs.
• Perform matched-hole drilling and reaming for proper alignment.
• Assemble subassemblies using fasteners, rivets, bushings, pins, and related hardware.
• Prepare components for chemical etching and perform chem-etch per procedures.
• Operate presses to install/remove aerospace components.
• Set up and operate milling machines, drill presses, and related equipment.
• Drill, countersink, counterbore, ream, deburr, and fabricate as required.
• Interpret drawings, specs, and work instructions; verify using precision instruments.
• Maintain production records and support continuous improvement initiatives.
