Job summary

Blue Origin in Space Coast, Florida, seeks a Structures Shift Leader to guide a team of Structures Technicians in fabrication, drilling, assembly, fixturing, alignment, and integration of aerospace structures for flight and non-flight hardware. You will ensure safety, quality, schedule attainment, and continuous improvement on the production floor.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in aerospace manufacturing or related field.
• 2+ years leading production teams or shifts.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specs.
• Experience with structural drilling, alignment, fixturing and aerospace processes.
• Experience using torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, and inspection tools.
• Experience coordinating with Manufacturing Eng, Quality, Planning and Supply Chain.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making in fast-paced settings.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work at heights.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and MES.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of Structures Technicians in fabrication, drilling, assembly, alignment, and integration of aerospace structures.
• Promote a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and operational excellence on every shift.
• Execute daily production plans balancing safety, quality, delivery and labor efficiency.
• Conduct shift startup meetings, set priorities, identify risks, and coordinate recovery plans.
• Ensure work follows engineering drawings, instructions, specs and standard work.
• Monitor center performance and remove bottlenecks with cross-functional teams.
• Provide technical guidance on structural assembly and precision drilling.
• Drive First Pass Yield, defect prevention and nonconformance reduction.
• Coach technicians and develop talent through coaching and standardized work.
• Own shift metrics including safety, quality, delivery, cost, and schedule adherence.
