Job summary

RTX in Middletown, CT is seeking a Structural Analysis Engineer to perform structural analysis of Fan and Low-Pressure Compressor components using hand calculations and finite element analysis, and to translate results into formal reports and presentations for the IPT and customers.

A Bachelor of Science in Engineering with 2 years of relevant experience is required; mechanical or aerospace degrees are preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience.
Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering preferred.
Strong knowledge of Airfoils/Blades.
Proficiency in structural finite element methods.
Focus on results and the ability to drive tasks to completion.
Demonstrated experience with written and oral communication to convey results to drive business.
Demonstrated experience working well within a team and maintaining a positive attitude toward commitments.

Responsibilities

Perform structural analysis of Fan, Low-Pressure Compressor (LPC) components via hand calculations and finite element analysis
Utilize analysis results to provide recommendations/proposals to the Integrated Product Team (IPT).
Work closely with all engineering disciplines on the IPT to identify balanced solutions to technical tasks.
Utilize the latest P&W structural best practices and analytical tools.
Provide documentation of analyses in the form of formal reports and presentations for management and customers.
Identify structural risks within work of moderate scope to ensure project completion
Travel up to 10%
