Job summary

Insight Global in Oklahoma City is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to support an Air Force sustainment and modernization program. This role centers on aircraft structural analysis, finite element modeling (FEA), airframe modifications, and lifecycle extension efforts to ensure airworthiness.

You will develop and validate FEMs using FEMAP, Nastran, Patran, ANSYS or Abaqus, work from CAD models, analyze loads and fatigue, and collaborate with design, manufacturing and test teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, structural, civil, or related engineering discipline.
• 5+ years aerospace structural engineering experience (or 3+ years with a Master’s).
• Experience performing aircraft structural or stress analysis.
• Hands-on experience with FEMAP, Nastran, Patran, ANSYS, Abaqus.
• Experience working with CAD tools such as CATIA, SolidWorks, NX, or Creo.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural and stress analysis of aircraft components and airframe modifications.
• Develop and validate finite element models using industry-standard FEA tools.
• Analyze aircraft loads, load paths, fatigue, and structural integrity.
• Utilize OEM and test data to evaluate structural performance and airworthiness.
• Work from CAD models to support engineering analysis and design solutions.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and test teams on aircraft sustainment initiatives.
• Prepare technical reports, analysis documentation, and engineering recommendations.
• Support structural testing activities, including test planning and analysis validation.
