Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Aerospace Structural Engineer for a remote contract position in the United States. You will lead structural analysis, design, and testing of aircraft components, collaborating with a global team of experts to deliver high-quality results.

The preferred candidate has 7+ years in aerospace structural design, strong FEA skills (ANSYS/NASTRAN/Abaqus), and experience with CATIA or SolidWorks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace or a related field.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in aerospace structural design and analysis.
• Proficiency in FEA software (ANSYS/NASTRAN/Abaqus).
• Knowledge of composite materials, metals, and aerospace manufacturing processes.
• Experience with CAD tools (CATIA/SolidWorks).
• Familiarity with FAA/EASA standards for structures.
• Strong written and verbal communication, and ability to work remotely.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design calculations for aircraft components using FEA software.
• Develop and optimize structural designs to meet strength, weight, and durability targets.
• Create engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
• Conduct static, dynamic, and fatigue analyses under various load conditions.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and stress teams to ensure manufacturability and cost-efficiency.
• Evaluate materials for aerospace structural applications and select appropriate options.
• Participate in design reviews and ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
• Support testing activities and analyze test data to validate performance.
• Troubleshoot structural issues during testing or in service and propose solutions.
• Stay updated on advancements in aerospace structural design and analysis.
