Job summary

Collier Aerospace is offering a summer internship through the NCSG program in North Carolina. You will gain hands-on experience on current industry aircraft designs and apply theoretical concepts to real-world scenarios.

You will be mentored by engineering leads, learn HyperX and industry CAE tools, and collaborate with a talented team to develop skills across aerospace software and structural analysis.

Qualifications

• Candidates should have experience in performing structural analysis and design.
• US citizen (required)
• In-progress bachelor’s degree in engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical or Civil)
• Coursework in Statics, Strength of Materials, Composites, Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Familiarity with structural failure modes and CAD/CAE tools is a plus
• Strong documentation, communication, and presentation skills

Responsibilities

• Learn and apply HyperX for preliminary and detail analysis/design sizing and optimization of airframes and space vehicles.
• Perform trade studies for weight savings and part producibility; document design and analyses results.
• Report sizing/analysis results to OEM customers and verify loadings and margins of safety.
• Escalate urgent problems and create workaround procedures when needed.
