Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a manufacturing technician in Windsor Locks, CT to prepare parts for plating, run plating lines, paint parts, and perform surface prep per established methods. You will also handle heat treatment, nondestructive testing prep, and equipment maintenance on the line.

The role requires 1–3 years of relevant experience and U.S. citizenship; training is provided, and the position is onsite with a 2nd shift schedule (Mon–Fri, 3:30 pm–12:00 am).

Qualifications

• One to three years of relevant experience.
• U.S. citizenship is required to access information under this program/contract.
• Experience with painting in aerospace/automotive settings, measuring equipment, and electroplating preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare parts for plating.
• Operate plating line equipment.
• Prepare and paint parts.
• Operate vapor, sand or dry blasting machines to prep parts for production.
• Operate ovens, furnaces and induction machines to heat treat parts.
• Use gauges such as micrometers, verniers and hardness testers to make measurements and checks.
• Monitor Waste Treatment Plant alarm/video system during operator absence.
• Maintain and clean equipment and logs; coordinate priorities with production lines.
• Instruct fellow employees in proper duties.
• Move parts and materials to designated locations.
