Job summary

Katalyst CRO in Rockford, IL seeks a software verification engineer to lead verification activities for a team of 5–10 engineers. You will analyze requirements, design and execute test cases, document results, and manage defects to ensure compliance with DO-178B/C standards.

Responsibilities include maintaining traceability across artifacts, preparing verification reports, and coordinating with System and Software Development teams to assure robust certification readiness.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM is required.
• Experience with software verification activities is preferred.
• Knowledge of DO-178B/C standards is a plus.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Thoroughly analyze software requirements to develop comprehensive test cases.
• Design and document detailed software verification test cases with inputs, outputs, and coverage.
• Execute test cases on target hardware/software platforms and document results.
• Identify, report, and track software defects with development teams.
• Perform code coverage analysis to ensure adequate testing of components and paths.
• Prepare detailed software verification reports with acceptance justifications.
• Maintain traceability between requirements, design, tests, and results for certification.
• Coordinate and collaborate with System and Software Development teams.
