Job summary

RTX is seeking a Software Modernization Engineer I for aircraft embedded software applications. This role supports development, test, and life-cycle tasks across military and commercial programs in a multi-disciplinary team.

You will work on software integration, design, and validation in a Windows environment, and collaborate with software and systems engineers to meet end-user needs while complying with DO-178C processes. This onsite role requires U.S.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work in a cross-discipline team.
• Experience developing software in a Windows environment.
• Proficiency with C/C++/C#/Java and UI patterns (MVVM/MVC/MVP).
• Understanding of software design patterns and debugging tools.
• Experience with Git and software configuration management.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Support development, testing, and life-cycle tasks for weapon/mission-critical software.
• Collaborate with software and systems engineers to design and implement solutions.
• Contribute to legacy and new programs from concept to maintenance.
