Job summary

Redwire Space Missions, LLC is hiring a Software Engineer at our Littleton, CO facility to help design, test, and integrate simulation and test software used to validate flight software, GN&C algorithms, and satellite operation. You will build a digital twin and flat sat with the flight software team and other engineering groups.

The role requires C++ and Python, real-time systems experience, and familiarity with avionics interfaces.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related engineering or computer science field.
• Proficient in C++ and Python with real-time systems experience.
• Experience with hardware-in-the-loop and digital twins.
• Familiarity with avionics interfaces and space systems is a plus.
• Experience with version control and issue tracking tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and configure simulation and test software for validating flight software and GN&C.
• Translate system requirements for digital twins and flat sats into software designs.
• Create component emulators to validate flight software modules and run day-in-the-life tests.
• Implement test software for AI&T operations on the spacecraft.
• Collaborate with electrical engineering to design a flat sat.
• Perform unit, integration, and system-level tests including hardware-in-the-loop.
• Document progress, software design, and testing processes.
• Adhere to safety protocols while operating test benches.
• Troubleshoot issues with simulation and test software.
• Apply software development best practices and version control.
• Ensure compliance with aerospace quality standards and configuration management.
• Collaborate with systems, avionics, and mission operations.
