Job summary
Global Precision Products – Middleton in Massachusetts is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Lead to own dock operations, packing, labeling, and carrier scheduling in a 100% onsite, 9:00 AM–5:30 PM, Monday–Friday environment. You will manage stockroom activities, ensure inventory accuracy, and support AS9100-compliant documentation.
The role requires hands-on experience in shipping, receiving, and cycle counting, with ERP/MRP familiarity, forklift certification, and U.S. person status under ITAR.
Qualifications
- Five or more years in shipping, receiving, warehouse, or stockroom work, with supervision/ownership experience.
- Hands-on experience with inventory control and cycle counting in an ERP/MRP system.
- Comfortable with shipping software and carrier systems (UPS, FedEx, LTL).
- Forklift certified, or able to become certified.
- Accurate, disciplined documentation habits and ability to prioritize under pressure.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- Must be a U.S. Person as defined under ITAR (22 CFR 120.62).
Responsibilities
- Own all outbound and inbound shipping activity, including packing, labeling, documentation, and carrier scheduling.
- Pack machined parts so they arrive undamaged with careful handling of close-tolerance work.
- Coordinate shipments to/from outside processing partners and suppliers to keep parts moving on schedule.
- Receive incoming material and log receipts against PO and packing list.
- Flag discrepancies in writing to resolve shortages before they reach the floor.
- Manage carrier relationships and rates; select service level for delivery commitments.
- Maintain shipping records to AS9100 requirements.
- Support export control requirements on international shipments with management coordination.
- Keep dock, shipping, and receiving areas clean, organized, and safe.
- Own the stockroom—organization, labeling, put-away, and controlled issue.
- Maintain inventory records and investigate variances.
- Run cycle counts and support physical inventories.
- Monitor stock levels and reorders for consumables.
- Ensure material traceability through receipt, storage, and issue in aerospace environment.
