Job summary

Hermeus is seeking a Sheet Metal Shop Technician for the 2nd shift to lead precision fabrication of flight hardware. You will set up and operate laser cutters, brakes, and related tools to meet tight aerospace tolerances.

You will read engineering drawings, verify conformance with precision gauges, and mentor junior operators on best practices. You will collaborate with engineers to improve processes, maintain equipment, and ensure a safe, organized shop floor focused on quality and on-time

Qualifications

High school diploma required; trade cert preferred.
3+ years in precision manufacturing or aerospace fabrication.
Ability to read/t interpret technical drawings and specs.

Responsibilities

Set up, operate, and maintain sheet metal fabrication equipment (laser cutters, press brakes, rollers, English wheels, shrinker-stretchers).
Read blueprints and flat patterns to ensure parts meet tolerances and quality standards.
Perform precision measurement with calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and radius gauges.
Collaborate with engineers to refine fabrication processes for tight-tolerance hardware.
Conduct basic assembly tasks (drilling, riveting, fastening) as needed.
Provide preventive maintenance and troubleshoot shop equipment.
Train operators on safe and efficient setup and operation.
Maintain a clean, safe work area and contribute to continuous improvement.
