Job summary

Advanced Reentry Technologies in Playa Vista, CA seeks an RF Engineering Intern to support verification, validation, integration and performance characterization of flight and ground RF/Telemetry systems for next‑gen reentry vehicles. You will work within the Avionics team on hands‑on RF testing, antenna and GPS integration, and system validation for mission readiness.

The role demands enrollment in an engineering/physics/math program, GPA 3.0+, and 3+ months of applied engineering experience.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s or doctorate degree program in an engineering, physics or math discipline.
• GPA of 3.0 or above.
• 3+ months of applied engineering experience (internship, laboratory, and personal/team project experience is applicable).
• Coursework or project experience in RF, antennas, electromagnetics, or communications systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with RF engineers to understand and test aerospace RF and telemetry systems for flight.
• Perform RF test and measurement using spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, and power meters.
• Support over‑the‑air and antenna test activities and range validation.
• Assist GPS testing and integration for the Arc vehicle.
• Support ground station compatibility testing and potential travel to test sites.
• Contribute to in‑house RF hardware testing, including SDR-based systems.
• Document RF test data and help generate test reports and summaries.
• Assist with test automation and analysis using Python, MATLAB or similar tools.
