Job summary

AeroVironment's Quality Technician II role supports the Quality Engineering group by processing FAI and PART approvals, selective inspection, and NC material handling, along with related administrative duties.

The position represents the Quality Department during UAV flight acceptance tests and requires documenting test results, maintaining records, and coordinating with QE teams and suppliers. Travel to remote flying sites is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• 1–2 years of related work experience.
• Experience in mechanical inspection methods and tools.
• Ability to read drawings including GD&T per ANSI Y14.5.
• Knowledge of FAI validation and verification process requirements.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Ability to fill out flight test documentation.
• Ability to document non-conformances.
• Ability to perform pre- and post-flight inspections on flight hardware.
• Ability to replace field replaceable components on aircraft and document results.
• Willingness to travel to remote flying sites daily.
• Must have a valid California drivers license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Processes inbound/outbound FAI and deliverable submissions and maintains related records.
• Conducts selective inspection and documents results.
• Processes internal non-conforming material with NC processes and communications.
• Supports QEs with corrective action requests and documentation.
• Supports DCMA Source Inspection process.
• Coordinates with Shipping and Contracts for timely delivery.
• Creates Final Inspection documentation package (COC, TDRs).
• Represents QEs during audits and maintains measurement system documentation.
• Develops and maintains quality process instructions.
• Works on semi-routine assignments.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
