Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. is seeking a Quality Technician II to support the Quality Engineering group with First Article Inspection and Part Approval Process, as well as handling nonconforming material and related documentation.

The role involves witnessing UAV flight acceptance test activity and maintaining logs and submission records. You will interact with QEs, engineers, and managers to ensure timely, accurate data.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent with 1–2 years of related work experience or equivalent
• Demonstrated expertise in mechanical inspection methods and skills
• Solid ability to read and understand drawings with GD&T to ANSI Y14.5
• Basic knowledge of FAI validation and verification process requirements
• Strong computer skills and proficiency in MS Office Suite
• Basic knowledge of engineering drawings and specification systems
• Must document flight test documentation
• Must document non-conformances encountered
• Ability to perform pre- and post-flight visual inspections on flight hardware/components
• Must replace field replaceable components on aircraft

Responsibilities

• Process inbound/outbound FAI and deliverable submissions with records and logs
• Conduct selective inspection under QE guidance and document results
• Process internal non-conforming material and communicate status to stakeholders
• Provide general QE support including corrective action requests and product evaluation
• Prepare Final Inspection documentation package (COC, TDRs) and support audits
• Assist in ongoing continuous improvement initiatives using A3 and Six Sigma DMAIC forms
• Coordinate with Shipping and Contracts to ensure timely delivery
