Job summary

Major Tool & Machine, Inc. in Decatur, TX is seeking a Quality Systems Manager to uphold and enhance our QMS, ensure compliance, and drive continuous improvement in a precision machining environment.

You will lead internal and supplier audits, manage nonconformances, mentor a small quality team, and engage with key aerospace customers to review metrics and conduct FAIs. Strong GD&T/SPC and AS9100/NQA-1 knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field required.
• Minimum three years of quality engineering in fabrication/machining; eight years if substituting education.
• Experience with codes, standards, specs, inspection, and NDE.
• Strong GD&T, SPC, and quality software knowledge including PC-DMIS and Minitab.
• Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9000, and NQA-1.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain quality control processes to meet specs and regs.
• Lead internal and supplier audits; prepare reports and corrective actions.
• Manage non-conformances, customer complaints, and vendor quality issues.
• Lead a small quality team; provide training and mentorship.
• Drive Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Oversee QMS documentation and readiness for audits and reviews.
• Interface with key clients to review metrics and support FAIs.
• Monitor KPIs and report trends with actionable recommendations.
• Perform hands-on inspections with CMMs, micrometers, and optical comparators.
