Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Quality Inspector in Long Beach, CA, to inspect space and missile defense hardware, coordinate non-conformances, and ensure conformance to specifications. The role involves CMM programming with PC-DMIS and Verisurf tools, plus travel for source verification as needed.

You will review drawings, perform dimensional checks, and document quality issues for a growing space and defense manufacturing company with a multi-site backing.

Qualifications

• 1+ year blueprint reading / GD&T in a machine shop environment.
• Inspector I through Senior Inspector considered.
• Experience with CMM programming tools such as PC-DMIS or Verisurf is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Inspect machined components, welded assemblies, and pressure vessel hardware for space and missile defense programs.
• Perform surface plate, in-process, visual, and dimensional inspection against drawings and work orders.
• Create, maintain, and verify PC-DMIS CMM programs; use Verisurf with laser tracker and portable arm for measurement.
• Document non-conformances and work with production to resolve quality issues.
• Review certifications, specifications, and documentation for conformance to design requirements.
• Support QMS documentation and travel to local suppliers for source verification as needed.

• You’ll inspect machined components, welded assemblies, and pressure vessel hardware for space and missile defense programs, owning both hands-on layout inspection and CMM programming.
• Perform surface plate, in-process, visual, and dimensional inspection of machined parts and assemblies against drawings and work orders
• Create, maintain, and verify PC-DMIS CMM programs; use Verisurf with laser tracker and portable arm for measurement
• Document non-conformances per procedure and work with production to resolve quality issues and reduce defects
• Review certifications, specifications, and documentation for conformance to design requirements
• Support QMS documentation and continuous improvement; travel to local suppliers for source verification as needed

Looking for:

• 1+ years of blueprint reading, shop math, or GD&T experience in a machine shop environment.
• Inspector I through Senior Inspector considered.
• Experience in any of the following areas welcomed:
• DCC CMM programming with PC-DMIS
• Verisurf with laser tracker or portable arm
• AS9102 First Article Inspection
• ISO 9001 / AS9100 quality systems
• ASME Y14.5 drawing review (datum structures, callouts)
• AWS D17.1 weld visual inspection
• Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) processes
• Surface plate layout tools (height gage, indicators, micrometers, gage blocks, thread gages)
