Job summary

RTCA is an aerospace manufacturing group seeking a Quality Manager to lead the site’s quality function for flight-critical programs. You will own the QMS, drive audits, and partner with cross-functional teams to ensure conformance and on-time delivery.

You will manage the quality team, lead continuous improvement, and interface with customers and suppliers while maintaining AS9100 compliance and strong metrics. This role is onsite in Chatsworth, CA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of quality experience in aerospace or precision CNC machining, including at least 3 years in a quality supervisory or management role.
• Strong working knowledge of AS9100 and ability to maintain a QMS and lead internal, customer, and registrar audits.
• Experience with nonconforming material/MRB, root cause analysis, and corrective action (e.g., 8D, 5-Why, fishbone).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T (ASME Y14.5), customer specifications, and flowdown requirements.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and CMM inspection software.
• Proven leadership and communication skills; able to coach a team and drive improvements.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain the QMS in compliance with AS9100, customer, and regulatory requirements.
• Lead the Quality department, including inspection, CMM, and quality engineering; set expectations and develop the team.
• Plan and lead internal audits; host customer, registrar, and regulatory audits and drive timely closures.
• Lead remediation projects to correct legacy QMS gaps and track actions to closure.
• Manage nonconforming material and MRB activities with timely dispositions and reporting.
• Drive RCCA/CAPA for internal, supplier, and customer escapes; respond to customers on time.
• Serve as primary quality contact for customers; review contracts and quality clause requirements.
• Oversee First Article Inspection (AS9102), in-process and final inspection priorities.
• Ensure calibration, gage control, and measurement system capability across inspection.
• Partner with Supply Chain on supplier approvals and corrective actions per QMS.
