Job summary

ThermAvant Technologies, LLC in Columbia, Missouri, seeks a Quality Manager to lead QA/QC across products, manufacturing and operations, ensuring AS9100 and ISO 9001 compliance and FAA considerations where applicable. You will drive the QMS, collaborate with Engineering, Supply Chain and Programs to prevent defects, improve reliability, and reduce scrap, while mentoring quality engineers and technicians.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Typically 5-10 years of experience in quality management/quality engineering in manufacturing.
• Demonstrated experience leading a quality department or team in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of AS9100 and ISO 9001 requirements.
• Experience with root cause analysis, CAPA, internal audits, and nonconformance management.
• Hands-on experience operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
• Knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T, inspection methods, metrology, and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with customer and supplier audits and quality metrics.
• Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality management systems; ERP/MES experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Quality Assurance department, including staffing, training, performance management, and resource planning.
• Develop quality strategies aligned with business objectives, customer expectations, and performance targets.
• Establish and monitor quality objectives, KPIs, and departmental budgets.
• Promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Provide leadership to quality engineers, inspectors, auditors, and technicians.
• Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (AS9100/ISO9001).
• Ensure compliance with customer clauses and aerospace regulations; manage audits and corrective actions.
• Oversee incoming, in-process, final inspection and product release activities.
• Drive root cause analysis, CAPA, and preventive actions; monitor scrap and rework.
• Lead supplier quality management and cross-functional collaboration.
• Support customer source inspections and quality reviews.
• Lead Lean/Six Sigma and data-driven improvement initiatives.
