Job summary

ThermAvant Technologies, LLC in Columbia, Missouri is seeking a proactive Quality Engineer to audit, plan, develop, implement, and maintain the company’s quality management system and customer-specific requirements.

You will inspect materials, develop PPAP documents, create CofA/CofC/FAI, maintain quality procedures, and support ERP implementations, working with all levels of staff in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent work experience.
• 2–5 years experience preferred in manufacturing/quality roles.
• Ability to read and interpret component and assembly drawings and GD&T.
• Ability to use inspection equipment (CMM, VMM, gauges, profilometer, calipers, etc.).
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect raw materials and perform 3rd party sample testing.
• Assemble confidential information and manage documentation.
• Develop PPAP-related documents (Process Flow, PFMEA-CA, Control Plans).
• Write or review CofA's, CofC's, and FAI reports.
• Maintain Quality Procedures/Manual and related documents.
• Develop QA processes with input from the department.
• Support ERP implementation and related tasks.

Position Overview

We are seeking a proactive Quality Engineer to join our team. The Quality Engineer assists in auditing, planning, development, implementation, communication, and maintenance of company’s quality management system, policies, documentation, data, and customer specific requirements.

Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize and organize a diversified workload.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspection & 3rd party sample testing of raw materials.
• Assembling confidential and sensitive information.
• Development of some PPAP related documents (Process Flow, PFMEA-CA, Control Plans, etc.).
• Write & or review CofA's, CofC's, FAI's. etc.
• Maintain Quality Procedures/Manual and associated supporting documentation.
• Develop QA processes as needed with input from the department.
• Assist with enterprise resource planning and implementation.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent work experience.
• 2~5 years experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret component & assembly drawings and engineering specifications.
• Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to be able to perform inspections on product.
• Ability to utilize inspection equipment: CMM, VMM, thread gauges, Mitutoyo digital height scale, calipers, pin gages, profilometer, etc.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Good oral & written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management, both internal and external.
• Capacity to work independently from general supervision (must be self-motivated once given a directions & guidance).
• Strong attention to detail.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Can sustain high-quality productivity level within a fast-paced environment.
• Vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Previous knowledge of ERP systems.
• Previous experience in manufacturing environment.
• Willing to train the right person.
