Job summary

North Atlantic Industries is seeking a Senior Quality Manager to lead the quality function for aerospace and defense electronics, overseeing AS9100QMS, quality engineering, and inspection. You will partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Program Management to prevent defects and drive product conformity.

You will own containment, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and supplier quality programs, while coaching the team and communicating progress to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• BS degree in electrical, mechanical, industrial, or related engineering field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 10 years in electronics manufacturing with 5+ years in quality management; aerospace/defense experience required.
• Experience owning an AS9100 QMS and leading audits with effective corrective actions.
• Familiarity with PCB assembly, SMT, electromechanical assembly, inspection and test processes.
• Experience applying IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 requirements and structured problem solving (8D, 5 Why, cause-effect).
• ASQ CMQ/OE or CQE certification, AS9100 lead auditor training, Lean Six Sigma (preferred).
• Experience with rugged electronics in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to explain technical issues and lead customer discussions.

Responsibilities

• Lead quality function for aerospace and defense electronics, including AS9100 QMS, quality engineering, inspection, and continuous improvement.
• Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Program Management to prevent defects and improve performance.
• Own containment, root-cause analysis, and corrective action for internal defects, supplier issues, customer escapes, and warranty/RMA trends.
• Direct incoming, in-process, and final inspection activities with clear acceptance criteria.
• Lead audits with customers and third parties; ensure timely closure of findings.
• Drive continuous improvement to reduce cost of poor quality and sustain improvements.
• Represent NAI in customer and supplier quality discussions; communicate risks to senior leadership.
• Manage supplier quality scorecards and corrective actions with Supply Chain for critical suppliers.
