Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Quality Inspector (Starshield) to perform surface plate and in-process inspection of aerospace and commercial parts. You will verify conformance to drawings and specifications, and collaborate with production to reduce defects and resolve issues.

The role requires 2+ years in quality inspection in a machine shop, plus 1+ year experience with blueprint reading or GD&T. On-site work in Hawthorne, CA with overtime as needed and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• 2+ years of quality inspection experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment.
• 1+ years of experience with blueprint reading and/or GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Complete surface plate work/inspection of machined aerospace and commercial parts.
• Inspect supplied product according to drawings/work orders to verify conformity.
• Complete in-process, visual and dimensional inspection of precision machined parts.
• Interact with production to improve products and reduce defects.
• Communicate and help resolve quality related issues.
• Document non-conformances per procedures and processes.
• Support quality management system policies and continual improvement initiatives.
• Work in cross functional environment using calipers, micrometers, height and bore gauges, optical comparators, and more.
• Perform documentation review and verification of certifications and conformance to requirements.
