Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Quality Inspector (STARSHIELD) in Hawthorne, CA, to inspect machined parts and ensure compliance with drawings and specifications. You will work on-site, interact with production, and support Lean initiatives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency
• 2+ years of quality inspection experience in a machine shop/manufacturing environment
• 1+ years of blueprint reading and/or GD&T knowledge

Responsibilities

• Complete surface plate inspection of aerospace and commercial parts
• Inspect parts per drawings or work orders to ensure design conformance
• Perform in-process, visual and dimensional inspections of precision parts
• Collaborate with production to reduce defects and improve products
• Document non-conformances per procedures; support QA policies
• Lead continual improvement and Lean manufacturing initiatives
• Utilize calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators, etc.
• Review drawings for callouts and datum structures per ASME Y14.5
