Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent and 3-5 years related inspection, or calibration experience.
• Able to implement lean/continuous improvement initiatives.
• Able to demonstrate team competencies and participate in goal setting and feedback.
• Must work with precise limits or standards of accuracy.
• Knowledge of common concepts, practices, and procedures in the field.
• Must pass required vision exam.
• Able to interpret reports and use job-specific software.
• Able to read/write instructions and work in a team environment.
• Math skills including trig and unit conversions.
• Preferred experience in CMM operations and ANSI Y14.5 dimensioning.
• Knowledge of applicable military standards.
• May be required to obtain forklift license.
• Proficient in reading blueprints and interpreting drawings.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate acceptance/rejection records and certifications as required.
• Determine acceptance after inspection/calibration; document results.
• Perform semi-complex inspection of components and shelf-life items.
• Inspect assembled product using measuring/test equipment.
• Send samples out for periodic testing to outside labs.
• Develop inspection set-ups to check sample parts and fixtures.
• Perform first article and envelope inspections, source inspections.
• Interpret specifications and tolerances from drawings and data.
• Layout/measure hole locations and centerlines on castings/forgings.
• Investigate causes of defective conditions and test failures.
