Job summary

GKN Aerospace is seeking a Quality Inspector to perform day-to-day inspection activities in our Cromwell, CT facility. You will participate in the inspection of products and processes and contribute to meeting quality and schedule goals under supervision.

The role requires a U.S. citizenship, at least 3 years of hands-on inspection experience and the ability to read engineering drawings. You will work within a team, follow procedures, and ensure compliance with NAS 410 requirements.

Qualifications

• 3 years hands-on operational quality inspection experience; ability to use decimals and fractions with sketches and measuring tools.
• Ability to read and follow detailed instructions and engineering drawings; follow sketches and use simple measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
• Must be U.S. Citizen; NAS 410 vision requirements; basic computer skills including SAP and standard Office software.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex inspection activities in manufacturing and development of products and processes.
• Provide technical input on inspection methods and acceptance criteria to Engineering, Purchasing and Manufacturing.
• Collect data for SPC applications and maintain inspection records and reports.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and comply with all government and company procedures.
• Communicate issues and observations to supervision and participate in internal audits and process improvements.
