Job summary

GKN Aerospace is seeking an aerospace inspector to ensure components meet specifications, evaluate test results and document findings. A strong understanding of aerospace manufacturing, engineering drawings, and quality assurance protocols is essential.

The role uses calipers, micrometers, and CMMs, requires interpreting blueprints and working with engineers on quality issues. Receiving, in-process and final inspections will be performed with robust quality records maintained.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years in inspection or 5 years in manufacturing.
• Proficient with inspection tools including calipers, micrometers, and CMMs.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specs.
• US person status or ability to obtain government licensing.

Responsibilities

• Perform receiving, in-process and final inspections to ensure conformance.
• Conduct supplier self-release activities per requirements.
• Use precision tools to ensure accurate measurements.
• Interpret quality standards, blueprints and specifications.
• Document inspection results in reports and records.
• Interface with engineers to resolve quality issues.
• Package shipments and arrange outbound transportation per specs.
• Input and extract data from customer portals.
• Review supplier test results and process certifications.
