Job summary

East/West Industries Inc., USA, headquartered in Ronkonkoma, NY, is seeking a Mechanical Inspector to uphold quality during incoming, in-process, and finished goods inspections. The role collaborates with a QC team under the Inspection Supervisor to ensure conformance to print specs and Mil-Specs.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of inspector experience, strong GD&T and measurement skills, and familiarity with AS9102 first article procedures.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Mechanical Inspector experience preferred.
• Experience documenting first piece and first article inspection results IAW AS9102.
• Able to read drawings and blueprints, Mil-Specs, and related documents.

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming materials against specifications; reject nonconforming items.
• Inspect in-process production; communicate adjustments to production supervisor.
• Inspect finished products; return for rework and confirm rework.
• Verify conformance to print specs, Mil-Specs, quality standards and AS9100.
• Document inspection results through reports and logs; input data into quality database.
• Perform mathematical measurements from blueprints and compare to specs.
• Verify supplier products meet quality standards.
• Approve first piece for production.
• Check ongoing jobs to ensure machine settings and operator accuracy.
• Maintain and calibrate measuring equipment; request repairs when needed.
• Suggest improvements to inspection procedures and work instructions.
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
