Job summary

Belcan, an industry-leading engineering and technical services provider, seeks a Quality Inspector for its aerospace manufacturing clientele in East Hartford, CT. The role focuses on dimensional and visual inspections using CMMs and PC-DMIS to ensure parts meet specs.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in aerospace or manufacturing inspection, blueprint reading skills, and a strong grasp of geometric tolerancing. Onsite shifts apply with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of inspection experience in aerospace or general manufacturing
• Proficient in operating CMMs using PC-DMIS and reading, writing and correlating programs
• Able to read, analyze and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and customer specifications
• Knowledge of geometric tolerancing and measurement tools such as micrometers and hand gauges
• Ability to work independently and solve problems with minimal supervision
• Experience performing incoming, in-process, and final inspections in aerospace environments

Responsibilities

• Create, edit and correlate PC-DMIS programs using a solid model and print
• Perform dimensional and visual inspection of aerospace engine parts and components
• Interpret operation sheets and blueprints to verify parts meet customer criteria for acceptability
• Inspect using CMMs and verify measurements with hard gaging and measuring equipment
• Maintain a fast-paced, accurate inspection workflow with minimal supervision
• Prepare required paperwork when parts are defective or require rework
• Assist with calibrating and building hard gages as needed
