Job summary

Belcan is seeking a detail-oriented CMM Inspector to join a precision aerospace manufacturing team in Farmington, CT. The role focuses on performing dimensional inspections on aerospace components using CMMs and precision instruments to ensure compliance with customer specifications and quality standards.

The ideal candidate will review inspection reports, interpret drawings, and maintain documentation while supporting QA initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of inspection or manufacturing experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Strong shop math skills and attention to detail.
• Experience with precision measuring instruments and inspection equipment.
• Basic computer skills and ability to maintain electronic records.
• Ability to work independently with quality and productivity.
• Willingness to wear PPE including safety glasses and safety shoes.

Responsibilities

• Operate Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) equipment to inspect incoming and in-process aerospace components.
• Follow procedures for setup, operation, and utilization of CMM inspection equipment.
• Review and interpret CMM reports to verify compliance with specifications.
• Perform dimensional inspections on airfoils and precision parts using gauges and instruments.
• Read blueprints and engineering drawings; maintain inspection documentation.
• Maintain records and traceability; update production logs and travelers in MRP.
• Escalate discrepancies, equipment issues or quality concerns to supervision.
• Support continuous improvement and quality assurance activities.
