Job summary

RTCA in Fife, WA is seeking a Quality Inspector to perform dimensional and visual inspections of raw materials, in-process parts, assemblies, and finished components using precision tools, ensuring compliance with engineering drawings and customer specifications. This role supports production and quality objectives within a precision manufacturing environment.

Depending on experience, you may lead advanced inspection activities, participate in root cause analysis, and mentor junior personnel

Qualifications

• Experience in quality inspection within aerospace, precision machining, or manufacturing environments.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Working knowledge of AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 quality management systems.
• Familiarity with ASME Y14.5 GD&T.
• Proficiency with standard inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges).
• Understanding of inspection methods, shop math, and basic trig.
• Ability to document inspection results accurately and clearly.

Responsibilities

• Perform dimensional and visual inspections on raw materials, in-process parts, assemblies, and finished components.
• Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T per ASME Y14.5 and AS9100 requirements.
• Maintain calibration status and proper handling of inspection tools.
• Record traceability data, FAIRs, and other quality documentation.
• Support First Article Inspection (FAI) activities and AS9102 documentation.
• Identify and communicate nonconformances; participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
