Job summary

Safran Electronics & Defense, Avionics USA, LLC. seeks a hands-on Quality Engineering Manager to lead a team delivering product quality across manufacturing and repair operations in the Aftermarket Americas Division.

You will drive continuous improvement, mentor engineers, and ensure regulatory compliance while focusing on customer satisfaction and corrective action closure. The role requires a Bachelor’s in a technical field or 8+ years in quality leadership, plus ISO/AS auditing credentials.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline is required or 8+ years of quality engineering experience in aerospace.
Professional certification in ISO 9001/AS9100/AS9110 auditing is required.
Master's degree is a plus and ASQ certifications are beneficial.

Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, develop, and evaluate the Quality Engineering team.
Set departmental quality goals and performance objectives.
Drive reductions in escapes, DPPM, COPQ, customer returns, and nonconformances.
Ensure closure of findings and corrective actions.
Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions for major quality issues.
Support production and engineering teams in solving quality concerns.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, A3, 8D, RCCA, SPC, and other quality tools.
Oversee quality activities for work transfers, industrialization, and capability expansions.
Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100, and AS9110 standards.
Lead and support internal, customer, certification, and regulatory audits.
Develop and report quality metrics to leadership.
Collaborate with Supply Chain and Supplier Quality to improve supplier performance.
