Job summary

Safran Group in San Diego seeks a senior Quality Assurance leader to guide the department, ensuring compliance with AS9100, FAA Part 21/145, and coordinating quality initiatives with Safran Power Units Toulouse.

You will report QMS metrics to executive leadership, oversee supplier quality and metrology, and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.

Required: 8+ years in aerospace QA, experience leading 4-5 staff, and strong auditing and corrective-action skills.

Qualifications

• 8+ years' experience of Quality Management in aerospace or highly regulated manufacturing environments.
• AS9100, FAA Part 21 and Part 145 compliance experience.
• Leads 4-5 employees and supports continuous improvement.

Summary of Job Purpose:

Manages, directs and coordinates activities of the Quality Assurance department to support the business unit.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Reports the Quality Management System metrics to business leadership team and parent company VP of Quality.
• Maintains an effective quality management system in liaison with the company divisions and in compliance with the requirements of AS9100, FAA Part 21 and Part 145 (including EASA special conditions for dual-release), and additional requirements requested by customers.
• Identifying customer and authorities' requirements and ensure compliance.
• Conducts audits to assess the operation of the quality system and manage quality reviews.
• Promote and support continuous improvement actions and making best practices widely applicable internally and to suppliers.
• Ensuring supplier quality (assessment, audit, quality performances).
• Oversee compliance of inspection, measuring and test equipment (metrology, calibration).
• Reporting and overseeing incidents and non-conformities. Monitoring corrective and preventive actions internally and with suppliers.
• Establish good working relationship with the Safran Quality community, customers, customer audits, AS9100 auditors and FAA auditors.
• Communicates and coordinates with Safran Power Units Toulouse on companywide quality projects and initiatives.
• Provides direction and examples for interpretation of quality policies and procedures.
• Supports assigned Internal Auditor duties as needed.
• Add to all manager roles: Participate in continuous monitoring of internal controls where necessary and ensure compliance.
